Description

Our client, based in Leeds is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their team on a full time  permanent basis!

 

An exciting opportunity for confident, highly organised Purchasing Assistant to join a growing business to ensure all purchasing transactions are in line with financial and company requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure all financial transactions relevant to purchasing are managed and processed promptly
  • To ensure smooth coordination of customer deliveries direct from suppliers capturing and managing POD.
  • To resolve invoice issues and queries from customers and suppliers in a timely manner
  • To create purchase orders day to day as required and framework orders, whilst managing the company database ensuring payment flows correctly
  • To set up new vendors as required and manage questionnaires and compliance
  • To meet month and year end deadlines to ensure all costs are posted correctly to ledgers
  • To investigate and resolve all transactions that are not progressed appropriately and escalate when required.
  • To manage agreed supplier SLA’s
  • To conduct and participate in supplier audits alongside the Stock & Purchasing Manager
  • To manage minimum stock levels to ensure equipment and stock are readily available at all times
  • To manage internal purchase process (uniform, PPE etc.).
  • To manage and facilitate training for the sales teams re new products and suppliers ensuring they are fully updated at all times
  • To manage a catalogue of data sheets for all products sold by the business
  • To ensure the business is kept up to date with product lead times and/or issues with supply chain
  • To recommend and develop improvements for purchase admin processes
  • To prepare monthly reports reflecting unreconciled purchase receipts and reasons
  • To ensure filing is completed and your desk area is free from clutter on a daily basis
  • To support and work with other departments due to busy periods or absence
  • To cover any other admin duties required to support the business

In order to be a successful candidate you must have previous experience within a purchase role. Your communication skills must be excellent along with strong customer focus.
