NEW opportunity to join an industry leader based in Harrogate.

Our client is looking for a Buyer to join their Procurement Department on a full time permanent basis with an immediate start available for the right candidate.

Working as part of a fast paced buying team, you will be responsible for the administering and accurate placement of the buying activities within the business and enforcing company buying systems and quality processes. You will be managing suppliers, ensuring best quality, services and commercial terms are achieved whilst working within the team to ensure an efficient, friendly and professional procurement service.

Your duties will include:

  • Purchase products and services to meet the company’s needs.
  • Collaborate with department managers to ensure continuity of supply of all necessary raw materials and components in line with the broader sales and production forecasts.
  • Tender / RFQ generation and evaluation through to contract, ensuring best practices are adhered to and best possible commercial terms achieved.
  • Maintain supplier on-boarding and performance assessment procedures in accordance with the Group and ISO 9001 standards ensuring continuous improvements to service levels and commercial terms for the business.
  • Ensure systems are maintained to reflect agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support with departmental needs; including product sourcing, pricing, technical data, bid support and new product development.
  • Produce and analyse reports and forecasts as required.
  • Solve problems with orders or invoices in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Support all team members with shared learning to promote continuous improvement within the team.


You will have experience of working in a Procurement role, ideally within manufacturing and material planning although this is not essential.

It is essential that you have high levels of accuracy and numeracy, you are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and that you have excellent organisational and administration skills.

You will have an enthusiastic attitude, flexibility and adaptability with the confidence to effectively negotiate cost savings with suppliers. To do this you will be a good communicator with the ability to learn quickly, and a desire to develop your skills in this area.

This role is office based and you will work Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, in return a salary of £28k – £32k is on offer for the right candidate!
