Our Harrogate based client is currently recruiting for a Data Protection and Compliance Office on a full time permanent basis!

 

You will ensure all Data protection and Compliance obligations are managed, monitored, developed and maintained to ensure we operate to the highest possible standards and within legal requirements.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assume role of Data Protection Officer to ensure GDPR compliance. Responsible for monitoring all data processing activities on an ongoing basis, and ensuring any necessary changes are made to bring operations in line with the regulations.
  • Oversee the development and embedding of appropriate and effective data protection policies and processes.
  • Process data access requests
  • Deal with any GDPR complaints
  • New starter and refresher training
  • Oversee and manage quality and environmental management systems within the business to ensure the retention of both ISO9001 and ISO14001.
  • To lead ISO requirements such as ISO 9001 & 14001,  Book, Co-ordinate and Manage the external ISO audits (6 days per annum)
  • To work collaboratively with Directors and wider colleagues to ensure organisational compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements across all functions
  • Provide reports summarising performance, any non-compliance and recommended solutions for ongoing improvements
  • Ensure compliance with current legislation and best practice, ensuring that any new legislative changes are brought to the attention of the responsible Director in a timely manner for appropriate action.
  • Develop policy and procedures, deliver presentations, and facilitate training to maintain and develop knowledge base in relation to data protection, environmental and quality standards
  • Chair the quarterly management review meeting
  • Update the quality/Environmental Managements documents
  • Weee regulation – Renew annual membership with Environment agency and compliance company
  • Submit WEEE figures on a quarterly basis
  • Responsible for Waste Management
  • Packaging compliance – Renew annual membership with Environment agency and compliance company. Submit packaging figures
  • Contract Management – Ensure these are circulated internally for approval. Address any questions raised with client. Arrange signing and return to client, this includes Tenders, PQQS and Subcontractor approval form – Manage, complete and submit within set deadline

 

To be considered for this role you must have previous similar experience and be up to date with all GDPR and data protection compliance. You will be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team. You will have high attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.

 

In return our client is looking to pay a salary of £28k – £32k with an excellent benefits package included!
