Our client based in Knaresborough is currently looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a full time, permanent basis!

Your role will be to assist the Group Financial Controller in providing the business with a finance function that is adequate for the business’ needs.  Key requirements include accurate and timely processing of finance transactions, implementation and monitoring of financial controls and provision of support to the wider business on processing of broking deals

The role will have responsibility for carrying out all day to day finance processes ensuring that transactions are recorded, reconciled and controlled appropriately.

 

Your duties will include:

 

  • Group treasury to include: reconciliation of Group bank accounts on a daily basis, monitoring of bank balances, processing of payments

 

  • Reconcile finance commission receipts with expected earnings as recorded in Grasberg.  Resolve commission discrepancies with lenders / Account Managers

 

  • Capture all cost and revenue streams within the system to ensure accurate reporting and management of margins.

 

  • Ensure working capital maximised through use of the stocking loan: add and settle vehicles purchased and sold to ensure cash is received and returned promptly

 

  • Credit control: monitor timeliness of receipts from lenders, introducers and other debtors to ensure that all monies owed to the Company are collected.

 

  • Record all purchase invoices in the accounting system, obtain sign-off for payment and process supplier payments

 

  • Process employee expense claims in accordance with the company expenses policy

 

  • Assist the Group Financial Controller with production of management and statutory accounts within Group internal deadlines

 

  • Work with Group auditors to provide all information as requested

 

  • Development, implementation and monitoring of financial controls

 

  • Any additional ad hoc finance projects as appropriate

 

  • Participation in training, internal and external to develop self and to demonstrate competence in the role. Ensuring continuous professional development

 

  • Fully understand and follow company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with operational and regulatory requirements

You will have:

  • Experience of bank reconciliations, credit control and purchase ledger
  • Familiarity with accounting systems – particularly Sage
  • Experience of group structures and processing intra-group transactions

 

In return, our client is offering a salary of up to £27k + profit share scheme and benefits package!
