Description

An EXCITING opportunity has arisen to join a Leeds based Children’s Charity, headed up by an experienced team who are well known and recognised within the Yorkshire business and property sector for their charitable work! They are responsible for organising several of the region’s largest and most prolific fundraising events and have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Marketing Manager to join the team.

 

This position will require a creative individual who can see the bigger picture, with experience in events, marketing, fundraising, expert communication, and leadership skills, who is highly organised, energetic, enthusiastic, independently motivated but also able to work as part of a team. Moreover, it will be an advantage if you have experience in managing multiple events, motivating others and working well with a wide variety of people across communities and groups.

 

As Marketing Manager, your duties will include:

 

Marketing

 

  • Drive and deliver a wide range of high-profile communications and marketing campaigns in line with multiple corporate and strategic partnerships, proactively seeking to maximize all partnerships to achieve their strategic goals.
  • To raise awareness of the charity through events, high-profile collaborative projects, local networking, and utilising local media channels to achieve press and PR targets in partnership with the wider team.
  • Implement digital marketing activity across web, digital PR and social media channels ensuring a cohesive, integrated approach, including video content.
  • Manage social media for the charity, with the support of the wider team and external suppliers.
  • Day-to-day management of the charity’s website including updating information, adding case studies/news stories and photography
  • Manage the charity’s e-newsletters for promoting events, fundraising/volunteering and impact
  • Work with external suppliers including photographers/videographers, web designers, PR agency and volunteers to ensure that all marketing activity aligns with the brand
  • Support with the measurement of activity to prove the charity’s impact

Events & Fundraising

  • Working alongside the Head of Events to deliver an ambitious programme of fundraising events.
  • Producing all marketing collateral for key events.
  • To achieve agreed income targets from a broad portfolio of fundraising streams from events, corporate support, individual donors and community fundraising.
  • Creating marketing and promotional activities to reach the charity’s fundraising goals
  • Manage and grow both new and existing relationships with key partners, supporters, corporates, major donors and other stakeholders to maximise opportunities for income generation.
  • Responsibility for developing and managing day-to-day planning for and running of fundraising activities.

Person Specification:

  • A strong work ethic with a passion for helping children
  • Experience in the events industry
  • Experience of developing and implementing marketing campaign activity
  • Experience of leading and motivating a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Drive, ambition, and a strong sense of initiative
  • A willingness to learn and take on additional responsibility
  • Excellent IT/Digital skills including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel and Power Point)
  • Experience of updating website content using content management system (ideally WordPress)
  • Basic HTML knowledge and understanding of SEO principles would be beneficial
  • Working knowledge of MailChimp or similar email marketing platforms
  • Able to use Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign and Illustrator) and/or Canva
  • Creative and able to think outside the box
  • Attention to detail/ strong proof reading skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds e.g. Committee members, colleagues, external suppliers, support staff at events etc.
  • Well organised with the ability to multi-task and achieve key deadlines
  • Reliable and well-presented
  • Is a ‘team player’ (working in a small office in close proximity to colleagues)

This is a full time, permanent position paying a salary of up to £35k, with an immediate start available!
