Our client is currently recruiting for a Life and Pensions Administrator to join their Independent Financial Advisory firm in Harrogate.

 

Your duties will include:

 

  • Group Life & Pensions Administration
  • Administration of Group Schemes for Group Life, PHI, GPP, and PMI. Dealing with all aspects of running schemes, including writing to new members and underwriting requests. Dealing with renewal information and re-broking schemes as and when required.
  • Processing new business including obtaining illustrations.
  • Ensuring clients’ records are kept up to date on the back office system.
  • Keeping up to date with legislation changes and FCA requirements.
  • To ensure smooth running of the Department to support the Consultants and Financial Planners and comply with the Compliance procedures of the Company.
  • Day to day administration of SSAS schemes, including members’ pension payments, payroll arrangements and liaising with HMRC re PAYE matters. Maintaining Scheme bank accounts, acting as signatory on accounts and maintaining liquidity. Calculation of members’ benefits.
  • Liaising with Accountants regarding preparation of pension scheme accounts.
  • Liaising with Solicitors regarding property assets, leases, scheme documentation.
  • Preparation of Deeds and documents to run and administer the schemes.
  • Setting up and administering loans from scheme to employer as required.
  • Ensuring notifiable events are reported to HMRC in a timely manner.
  • HMRC pension scheme returns. VAT returns and tax reclamation returns.
  • Pension Regulator returns.

 

Skills required:

 

  • Minimum of 18months experience working as a Financial Services Administrator
  • Ability to interpret data and to analyse where existing procedures and practices can be improved.
  • Excellent standard of written & verbal communication;
  • Ability to empathise and build strong business relationships with our clients other staff and strategic partners.
  • Possess the ability to work using your own initiative, the preferred candidate must have a can do attitude, possess the ability to search out solution.
  • Ability to manage own time, workload and ensure that all contractual obligations are met with partner firms; and
  • Good computer knowledge and skills, must be comfortable with Microsoft word and Excel

 

This is a full time, permanent role working Monday – Friday 9am – 5.15pm, with a  good benefits package including 27 days holiday + bank holiday! Salary will be negotiable for the right candidate.
