We are recruiting for a Senior Credit Controller for our Harrogate based client on a full time, permanent basis!

The Senior Credit Controller will oversee all sites under the management of the group of companies. This position will report into the Finance Manager.


  • Monitor and allocate resident payments
  • Manage debtors and pursue any outstanding payments in a timely manner via email, telephone and letter, following company procedures
  • Negotiate and track resident payment plans
  • Prepare debtors reports for internal and for external stakeholder use
  • Present arrears status to internal and external parties
  • Issue legal letters- 7 Day/ 14 Day/ 21 Day to resident.
  • Internal legal escalation process on 2 months + arrears
  • Provide reporting/ analysis on Amber Energy Debt
  • Communicate with solicitors and external bodies to implement debt recovery process
  • Manage debt for commercial units
  • Recharge energy to commercial units
  • Document and prepare supporting evidence for use in legal proceedings
  • Liaise with internal sales and lettings team to identify, allocate and resolve issues surrounding outstanding payments
  • Complete account reconciliations
  • Overseeing credit approval process prior to tenancy being agreed
  • Advise on terms and conditions of financial agreements
  • Flag any system/ process concerns


  • Organised, with a positive, can-do working attitude
  • Professional, confident and diplomatic when liaising with others
  • Strong, confident telephone manner
  • Accurate, efficient and organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as needed
  • Ability to generate and maintain positive client relationships internally and externally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and accounting software programs
  • Experience in reconciling accounts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Confident in presenting debt figures

Hours: 9 am – 5.30pm, based on a hybrid working pattern!

Salary: Up to £32,000.00 per year.
